The National Hurricane Center on Monday warned Jamaica’s 2.8 million residents to “seek shelter now” as Category 5 Hurricane Melissa approached the island. The storm was about 140 miles southwest of Kingston with sustained winds of 175 mph, moving west at 3 mph.  The hurricane is expected to reach southeastern Cuba Tuesday night, and the Bahamas on Wednesday. President Trump said he received an MRI during his latest medical exam at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and described the results as “perfect.” The president told reporters Monday aboard Air Force One, that the scan was part of his October checkup, conducted six months after his April physical. When asked why the MRI was performed, Mr. Trump said reporters should ask his doctors. (Story URL)


American Water Works and Essential Utilities announced Monday that their boards approved an all-stock merger valued at $40 billion. The combined company, to be called American Water, will serve 17 states and have an enterprise value of $63 billion based on Friday’s closing prices. Headquartered in Camden, N.J., the merged utility will be led by American Water President and CEO John Griffith. (Story URL)


Guatemalan President Bernardo Arévalo has accused the prosecutor’s office of orchestrating an attempted coup. He directly blamed Attorney General Consuelo Porras and Judge Fredy Orellana, calling them leaders of a “criminal alliance” seeking to dismantle democracy. On Friday, Orellana annulled all actions related to Movimiento Semilla, Arévalo’s party, citing alleged forged signatures. (Story URL)


A Minnesota man has been arrested and charged with threatening Attorney General Pam Bondi in a TikTok post that appeared to offer a $45,000 bounty. Agents traced the account to 30-year-old Tyler Maxon Avalos of St. Paul. Court records show Avalos has prior convictions for stalking and domestic assault. He appeared before a federal magistrate in Minneapolis and was released on bond. (Story URL)
